Over the past year or so I have been playing this game like a religion. Come home from work... play. My day off... play. Skip work... play(I've only done this once). Grandma's funeral... mourn some, then play. This game is one of the most addicting things on earth! And for most of us who play, we don't take a step back and look at the fact that we are addicted. As an example I have pulled an article from blogs.guardian.co.uk from their ever popular GamesBlog:
Chinese boy jumps from building - parents blame WoW?

Here's another strange story of fatal online gaming addiction - this time from Tianjin in China. According to several news sources, the parents of a teenage World of Warcraft addict are suing Blizzard after their son jumped to his death from a building - allegedly while 're-enacting an event' from the successful MMORPG. Clearly, game addiction is a serious problem in China, but this is a puzzling case. I can't recall hearing about any WoW quests that have involved leaping from great heights. The story is everywhere on the net, but vital facts and primary source data are missing - as is often the case with these tragic tales from the Far East...

Though there is, in fact, a quest in WoW that has you jumping from a cliff(in the Thousand Needles area), that does not mean you can sue a video game company!!!... You have to be in America for that! Further more the fact that this child has the IQ of butter for thinking he can't die because he played a video game he liked doesn't really help his case either. Ladies and gentlemen, that is exactly what people do! This is why everybody sues everybody for everything! After losing someone, that costs money. After they spend the necessary money, they're poor. When they are poor they have nothing to lose. So here is the scenario:
"This is just horrible." "I know." "And now we don't have anything, even our son." "We wasted all that time letting him play video games!" "You know, he did play them a lot." "What are you saying?" "Well, in video games you can't die, couldn't we sue for that?" "Wow, but which game?" "Well, that worlds of warcraft game is popular." "Yes! It's settled, we'll sue because of our son's stupidity!" "Right on!"
While this might not be the exact scenario(give or take the chinese language), this isn't too far from the truth. People in all countries, not just America, sue for the most stupid and ignorant things. A fine, non-gaming, example of this would be the McDonald's vs. Stupid Bitch case in which Stupid Bitch poored coffee on herself and went to the hospital for 2nd degree burns. While laying in the hospital, she thought to herself, "Wait, was there any warning on that cup?.. There isn't! My friend Stupid Bitch Leader sued IHOP for being traumatized by her cold pancakes last week and won! Oh, I'm so goin for it!"
This woman purchased that cup of coffee for $0.59, and in the end was granted 2.7 million US dollars from the case. God Bless America. Where grandpa can sue for being old, and Uncle Sam wants YOU to destroy other countries because the hick-in-office" said so... and then played a round of golf... Go Texas.
Well, I'm tired of talking about WoW and not playing it, and my McDonald's is getting cold. Peace
